JOB TITLE: Library Coordinator
STATUS: Non-Exempt/Hourly
TYPE: On-Campus
REPORTS TO: Academic Librarian
PURPOSE
The Library Coordinator performs routine clerical duties on site within the Learning Resource Center and supports the basic information needs of the LRC users. The Library Coordinator assists users with locating general information, stock shelves, and process circulation of LRC resources for the campus. This is an important role as the Library Assistant helps the Learning Resource Center run efficiently and stay organized.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Check in/out LRC resources using the library’s OPAC system
- Catalog and maintain accurate item records using the Library Management System (LMS)
- Organize resources and reshelve returned items
- Provide students and faculty with general reference services in person, on the phone, and online
- Answer library phone calls, organize files on library SharePoint, organize and store physical documents as needed
- Oversee overdue material records and inform supervisor if holds need to be placed
- Support with LibGuide updates and maintenance
- Support with loans between campuses
- Ensure library is clean, sanitized, organized, and always has appropriate supplies available
- Maintain knowledge/understanding of Triad Education programs, campus resources, information systems, policies, and procedures - participate in policy implementation and enforcement
- Partner/coordinate with other departments within the school as needed
- Provide LRS Manager with regular updates and feedback relative to students’ information needs
- Additional duties as assigned by LRS Manager
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:
- High school diploma is required
- The ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines through strong time management skills
- Must be able to work well under pressure while staying organized
- Non-negotiables include a positive attitude, the desire to help others, a self-driven nature, confident, and results-oriented
- Be able to effectively collaborate with other team members to meet daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly LRC and campus objectives
- Other necessary character traits include being a team player and having the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
- Always behave in a professional manner in way of appearance, demeanor, and attitude
- Consistently display the highest levels of integrity in all that is done
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to stand/sit for prolonged periods of time
- Can independently move objects up to 25 lbs.
- Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, other office machinery, and perform repetitive motions
- Must have sufficient hearing and speaking ability to communicate in person or on the phone/computer with others
- Must be able to continuously function in activities that include walking, bending, squatting, and reaching
