Summary Job Description

The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for assisting in implementing and monitoring our retail client compliance requirements, and federal regulatory laws that pertain to our practice. This position will support the Compliance Manager, who functions as a liaison between the various sections (i.e., finance, legal and collections) within the department on regulatory and related matters. This position will also help oversee and manage our client audits.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains knowledge of compliance responsibilities required by law, regulation, or best practice. Monitors compliance changes and requirements with firm managers. Helps ensure business goals and objectives are consistent with current regulations and upcoming regulatory changes.
  • Maintains knowledge of our operational policies, procedures, and systems for our practice. Assists in making proposed changes to policies and procedures and provides compliance related feedback.
  • Facilitates assigned client compliance audit reviews, monthly call recordings, reports audit results, and makes suggestions for better compliance. Monitors corrective action items.
  • Performs assigned internal call monitoring audits and quality control reviews, reports results, and makes suggestions for better compliance. Monitors corrective action items.
  • Monitors timely quality control review completions by firm management.
  • Assists in providing oversight and tracking of complaint resolution.
  • Completes assigned client surveys and questionnaires.
  • Assists in providing compliance training to our section employees, developing, and updating materials as needed and answering questions. Confirms our employees understand how their job duties and responsibilities fit into the overall compliance program.
  • Helps research and respond to compliance questions from employees as they occur during regular business hours.
  • Keeps section employees and managers apprised of changes in regulations by assisting in writing articles, emails, and training blasts for in-house use, and prepares training guides and FAQ Sheets for employee assistance.
  • Vendor management, annual reviews of vendor files, on/offboarding of vendors

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in business, collections, or other related field.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state consumer laws and compliance regulations.
  • Effective presentation, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to document findings and project work.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail, and analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Effective and efficient time management skills.
