Summary
The Laborer will assist other employees as required with cleaning, moving materials and parts, loading and unloading parts and equipment. This role will also be responsible for the maintenance and inventory of supplies within the tool room at our shop in East Pittsburgh. The Laborer / Tool Room Attendant will need to have good work ethics, positive attitudes, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. The right candidate will
- Is a safety minded worker who is drug free and dependable with an excellent attendance record
- Reports and/or corrects all unsafe conditions immediately
- Keeps a list of parts and equipment available for distribution, maintains records of which products are signed out and to whom, and then signs products back in when they are returned.
- Have a good understanding on how to use equipment to explain the process to new employees.
- Issues, receives, orders, turns in of unserviceable tools, stores and maintains parts and tool room.
- Performs clean-up duties and polices the shop areas as assigned
- Performs grinding, painting, hydrostatic testing, hydraulic testing, flame testing and all related tasks to buildings, equipment, components, subassemblies, and/or molds
- Complete simple disassembly and assembly work
- Performs simple maintenance on tools and equipment
- Moves and distributes equipment, and parts using the fork truck, crane, or other material handling equipment
- Completes forms, routers and related paperwork
- Participates in field service work as assigned
- Will be required, on an as needed basis, to assist or perform functions in alternate areas of the business
What you’ll need
- Related experience
- Be able to stand, crouch, kneel and climb stairs for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Attention to detail and ability follow written and oral instructions.
- Basic math and computer skills
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Drug Screen and Physical Capacity Profile Test.
