What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Accountant position at SNI Companies?
SNI Companies is partnered with a Construction Firm looking for an experienced Accountant with a strong commercial construction background. This role plays a key part in supporting project teams by ensuring accurate job costing, clean financials, and smooth project closeouts.
What You’ll Do
- Manage AP/AR, including vendor & subcontractor invoices, lien waivers, and compliance docs
- Handle job costing, budgets, buyouts, and change orders
- Maintain Procore ↔ QuickBooks Online synchronization and reporting
- Prepare AIA progress billings, track retainage, collections, and payments
- Process payroll (including certified payroll when required)
- Support sales tax, payroll tax, W-2s, 1099s, and insurance audits
- Assist with month-end/year-end close, reconciliations, and audits
- Provide financial insights through budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
What We’re Looking For
- 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in commercial construction (required)
- Strong knowledge of job costing, AIA billing, retainage, and sales tax
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and Procore (required)
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working cross-functionally with project teams
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (preferred)
Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
