We are currently seeking a team member who believes in the “extra mile” philosophy to fulfill our Zone 4 Retread Associate role.

As a Zone 4 Retread Associate, you will be responsible for Painter, Stacker, Expeditor, Freight
Specialist and Facilitator processes for revitalizing commercial truck tires while using Michelin
Retread methods. As you gain more certifications in our retread shipping positions, your roles
and responsibilities will increase, as will the requirement to meet certain training and Snider
certification requirements on several posts throughout the Shipping and Receiving department in
the retread plant.

What You’ll Do on a Typical Day:

Painter/Stacker

• Use sponges to apply an even layer of paint around the sidewalls of the tire to remove any unwanted markings.
• Stage tires as instructed and stack as needed.
• Stack tires by hand as well as using the squeeze lift
• Paint/stack at a sufficient speed to outpace final inspectors
• Have a good understanding of the truck schedule and which locations to give priority based on scheduled shipments

Expeditor

• Using the Best Practice document on file, provide feedback to store locations that do not adhere to SFS policy that outlines how they must send casings to the plant..
• Fix all casings that cannot be processed (CAM spec issues, NOF, no barcode, incorrect plant, etc.) and communicates to store managers.
• Control and process rejects at initial and final, ensuring that they are properly coded for reject.
• Locate missing tires upon request from store locations
• Using QLIK and BTN, research and find tires that will be delivered late, and expedite them through the plant.
• Write up casings and create new work orders as necessary.
• Determine tread needed on unmarked casings.
• Perform Paint and Stack duties as needed

Freight Specialist

• Load and unload trucks
• Scan receives each inbound load and communicates with Facilitator on where to store each load in the backlog.
• Track quantity of tires received from each store location daily
• Track quantity of tires being shipped to each store location daily
• Create Pack list and Maddenco Invoices for each shipment daily, load must match invoice.
• Pick up stacks of rejects at initial, process them through to the shipping post.
• Sort casings by size (if not already sorted by store locations)
• Perform Expeditor role as required.
• Load tires at Initial inspection as required, under direction of Supervisors and PM.

Facilitator/Logistics Specialists

• Load initial with casings to process
• Ensure no tires with out-of-stock tread begin processing
• Organize tires in backlog
• Prepare a pool of ready-to-process casings daily
• Perform Freight Specialist role as needed.
• Communicate with TRACS to bring over stock casings
• Communicate with Freight Specialist about incoming casings.
• Communicate with supervisors and builder operators to keep an accurate “on hand” tread list daily
• Minimize processing casings with out-of-stock tread

This position is based at the company’s corporate office. The majority of this position will consist of normal office tasks and interaction amongst peers and Snider branches. Overnight and out of market travel to other Snider locations and customers is less than 25%. When traveling to Snider locations, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts/equipment, fumes, or airborne particles, and the noise level is usually moderate to high.

Our Ideal Candidate:

Education or Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in similar role or industry is a plus.
• No experience necessary, training provided.

Certificates and Licenses:

• Forklift certification, obtained after employment.
• Commercial TIA certification preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
• Safety conscious at all times.
• Have excellent communication skills
• Must be able to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment.
• Coachable, hardworking, and possess general mechanical aptitude.
• Must have strong time management skills, as well as close attention to detail.

• Ability to learn and operate provided service equipment and hand tools.
• Ability to work a rotating, on-call schedule, including nights and weekend shifts.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer and/or smart phone skills.
• Have basic knowledge all information contained within finished goods/reject labels
• Understand how to print finished goods/reject labels
• Be able to use critical thinking skills and good judgment to determine optimal stack placement
• Have extensive knowledge of B2B and Bibtread
• Understand pack lists and work orders, and the difference between the two
• Have deep understanding of reject codes
• Have extensive knowledge of the shipping and receiving process in BTN
• Have knowledge of tread designs
• Have basic knowledge of Maddenco
• Have extensive knowledge of store locations and numbers
• Have good time management skills to ensure all shipments loaded in timely manner
• Have extensive knowledge of tread designs
• Have extensive knowledge of the retread process
