Job Summary : Under the direction of a behavior specialist or Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), perform skilled, confidential support and assistance to the classroom teacher and IEP team as required with students who demonstrate challenging behaviors. Specific responsibilities for this position are as described on the attached job description.

Salary Range : $29.45 - $33.35 Certified Behavior Tech per 2024-25 Public School Employees Salary Schedule

Above pay rates do not include holiday and pay in lieu of vacation, which increases the hourly compensation.

Work Schedule :

  • Shift : Monday through Friday, 7 : 30 a.m. - 2 : 30 p.m. (hours may vary depending on school site)
  • Paid Hours : 6.5 hours per day
  • Lunch Break : 30-minutes unpaid break
  • Calendar : 9 months / year; enjoy time office during spring break, winter break and summer, plus 10 paid holidays.

Qualifications :

  • AA degree or higher, or two years of college (72 quarter credits), and / or Para Pro Assessment developed by the Educational Testing Service (ETS).
  • BA in human services or related degree program preferred.
  • Current Certified Behavior Technician (obtained through the state of Washington) or Registered Behavior Technician (obtained through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board) certificate OR willingness to complete all necessary steps to obtain CBT certification (e.g., 40-hour training, passing a skills assessment, etc.) as outlined by the WA state Department of Health, within 90 days of employment.
  • Previous experience working with children and young adults with special needs ages 3-21.
  • Curent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or equivalent de-escalation training certificate, OR willingness to complete this training as directed.
  • Previous successful experience in education, social work or other related occupation preferred.
  • First Aid card and CPR training is required.
  • Ability to meet the qualifications as listed on the job description for this position.
