What are the responsibilities and job description for the Snow Reporter position at Snowbasin Resort?
Tasks must be completed under strict deadlines early in the morning. The Communications Associate must strive to obtain and maintain a high standard of quality reporting and be very detail orientated. This person works from home on computer/laptop of tablet and needs strong and stable internet connections. This job includes a free season pass. Daily weather and conditions communication is done each morning during the winter season and will be split between 2 people.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Early-morning at-home (remote) attendance from 5:00 am – 7:00 am for 3-4 days per week.
- Communicate conditions, weather, snow facts, and marketing messages with professional grammar and adherence to Snowbasin’s brand.
- Must have clear spoken voice to record daily phone reports with enthusiasm. Record a short message 1 minute or less on the Snow Phone with enthusiasm.
- Candidate must check the weather forecast and overnight snow totals.
- Update third party sites with snow totals, weather, and short summary about day of activities.
- Compose and post the Snow Report on the Conditions Page of the Snowbasin.com.
- When snow message is pertinent, use social media to promote conditions by 6:30 am.
Equipment Used:
- Personal Computer/Laptop/ Tablet – working from home
- Personal phone used to call into Snow Phone
- Strong internet connection where you plan to do the report
Qualifications:
- Strong writing skills
- Self-starter attitude
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Intermediate/ advanced computer skills
- Professionalism and strong communications skills
- Have clear spoken voice for recordings.
- Work well under pressure
- Be on time, reliable, and responsible.
