Position Title: Clinical Director (Director of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Counseling Services)
The Clinical Director oversees Social Recovery Center’s treatment team, providing clinical supervision, administrative leadership, and ensuring high-quality services. This role drives program culture and reports to the Associate Director of Programs.
Qualifications:
- NJ licensed psychologist with APA certification in Substance Use Disorder (SUD), or LCADC and CCS.
- NJ LCSW, LPC, or LMFT with clinical supervisor certification or LCADC and CCS.
- NJ licensed physician certified in addiction medicine, psychiatrist, or APN with CCS or LCADC.
- Master's in counseling/social work required for non-CCS incumbents, with plans to obtain appropriate licensure for supervision in an alcohol/drug counseling facility.
Clinical Support:
- Develops, implements, and reviews clinical policies/procedures to meet state and federal standards.
- Ensures services align with client treatment plans and are coordinated with other care as needed.
- Supervises assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for co-occurring disorders by qualified staff.
- Maintains client confidentiality and fosters professional relationships with clients, families, and staff.
- Conducts psychological evaluations and supports program growth through new activities and care levels.
Supervision of Staff:
- Establishes clinical supervision protocols to ensure staff performance and service quality.
- Provides written supervision agreements and annual evaluations with professional development plans.
- Conducts orientation, direct supervision (1 hour/week minimum), and evaluations for counseling staff.
- Ensures 50% of staff are LCADC/CADC or licensed professionals; remaining staff must actively work toward licensure.
- Addresses staff performance issues with clear documentation and progressive discipline.
- Ensures on-call coverage during program hours.
Administrative Duties:
- Ensures compliance with state regulations and audit readiness.
- Oversees staff licensing, job descriptions, and education activities.
- Manages communication of program/policy changes and supports staff transitions.
- Approves client admissions/discharges and schedules APN appointments.
- Ensures Medicaid compliance, documentation reviews, and billing processes.
- Collaborates with Admissions/Outreach for marketing and business development.
- Supports senior leadership in service expansion applications and Fee-for-Service initiatives.
- Oversees clinical record management and supplies procurement.
- Supports HR processes, ensuring workforce diversity and inclusion.
