Development Associate Job Description
Sociedad Latina is seeking a dynamic Development Associate to join our Development Team, charged with advancing the organizational mission by securing financial resources and crafting a compelling case for support. This position provides an exciting opportunity to support the organizational fundraising plan through grant writing and research, database management, working with individual donors, and assisting with fundraising events and other initiatives. Our Development Associate will report to the Development Director and work closely with the Leadership Team and the entire staff. This is a full-time (40 hours/week) hybrid position with benefits.
Experience and Qualifications
● Bachelor’s Degree in English/Writing, or other relevant area of study, required
● 4 years of experience with fundraising/development
● 3 years of experience with grant writing required
● Knowledge of grants databases, including Network for Good, Access, Salesforce, etc., preferred
● Ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse races/ethnicities, sexual orientation, gender identity, cultures, age groups, religion, country of origin, disability and economic status
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Demonstrated commitment to Sociedad Latina’s mission of supporting Latine youth and families
● Spanish language abilities preferred
Responsibilities
● Write and submit high-quality letters of intent, proposals, and reports to institutional funders, meeting internal and external deadlines
● Compose and submit program budgets to institutional funders, meeting internal and external deadlines
● Manage grants database and Development server, including inputting award decisions, saving award letters, pulling reports, and writing acknowledgement letters
● Support the Development Director with leading fundraising events and individual donor prospecting and cultivation
● Meet with the Development Director weekly for supervision meetings and other Development planning meetings
● Support with other fundraising tasks as needed, including individual donors and event sponsorships
Salary and Benefits:
● Full Time- 40 Hour Position, $55k-$65k, depending on experience
● Sociedad Latina offers a competitive benefits package including, but not limited to, sabbatical after 5 years, holiday, vacation, personal, and sick paid time, health insurance, and an optional retirement plan.
● Hybrid position, with a requirement of one day per week in the office aside from mandatory in-person events and meetings
