UC San Diego has one of the longest funded Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers and has internationally renowned programs in basic and clinical research into the cause, effects, and treatment of Alzheimer's disease and related neurodegenerative disorders.The successful candidate will become an integral partner in the research efforts of the Department of Neurosciences and the Shiley-Marcos Alzheimer's Disease Research Center. The selected candidate will lead and contribute to research initiatives, as well as provide high-quality teaching.QualificationsBasic qualifications (required at time of application) : Candidates must have a PhD in Neurology or related fields, and / or an MD or equivalent. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in basic or translational neuroscience research in aging, neurodegeneration, and Alzheimer's disease, including at least 5 years in one or more of the following areas : neuropathology, neuroscience, neurobiology, genetics, or Alzheimer's disease-related biomarkers.
