Information Technology Specialist

SoftInWay, Inc. is recruiting an experienced IT Specialist for its Burlington, MA office. This individual will assist with all aspects of company IT-related matters and implement enterprise cybersecurity best practices.

Through our best-in-class software, AxSTREAM, and customized engineering services, we support over 750 companies globally, along with universities, research labs, and government organizations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·        Overseeing software, mainframes, VPNs, routers, and other physical hardware and regular maintenance making sure all firmware and software packages are up to date.

·        Manage network servers and technology tools.

·        Ensure that the network is secure and protected against cyber threats and threat actors.

·        Provide general IT support to SoftInWay’s staff and, when needed, diagnose and troubleshoot computer and network issues.

·        Install and update company software and hardware as needed.

·        Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.

·        Evaluate third-party software products and licensing terms and make recommendations to senior management.

·        Help with onboarding and offboarding of employees, including installation of all new technology for the company or new hires (e.g., computer operating systems, software programs, and applications).

·        Implement and maintain an asset management system through data entry, keeping it up to date for all electronic assets, devices and services through their life cycle.

·        Work with vendors and staff to complete a variety of IT security implementation and maintenance tasks.

·        Ensure data backup and recovery processes are in place.

·        Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Required Skill Set:

·        College-level coursework in computer science, information technology, or related field.

·        Proven experience as an IT Specialist or similar role.

·        Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, and hardware.

·        Proven experience with various operating systems and databases.

·        Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

·        Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·        Proven experience in setting up MS Azure, MS Office 365, AWS, and Active Directory accounting for cybersecurity standards.

·        Experience working in NIST SP 800-53 or NIST SP 800-171 compliant network environments preferred.

·        Qualified to work with ITAR data preferred

·        M365 GCC High tenant setup and maintenance with respect to CMMC level 2 or level 3 compliance preferred.

·        Experience with Cisco Meraki MX

The Following Skills are a Plus:

·        Cyber security certification and/or training.

·        Experience managing IT projects from the planning phase to the implementation.

Experience:

·        Former Military preferred but not essential requirement

·        IT support in cyber security compliant environments: 3 years

Work Location: On-site in Burlington, MA office; not a remote role.
