Position: Vet Assistant / Vet Technician

What You’ll Do
This is just a sample of duties you can expect in this role:
- Administer vaccines, medications, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Assist with spay/neuter surgeries, dental procedures, and dental X-rays.
- Prepare animals for surgery, including pre-surgical shaving and sterilization.
- Monitor animals during surgery and recovery, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Perform lab work such as fecal testing, urinalysis, and other diagnostics.
- Use Fear Free handling techniques to ensure a calm and stress-free experience for animals during exams and procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient files.
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and exam areas.
- Support intake exams, documenting animals' health upon arrival.
- Educate adopters on post-surgery care, vaccination schedules, and general pet health.
- Assist with daily animal care tasks, including feeding, cleaning, and enrichment.
- Observe and report signs of illness, injury, or behavioral changes.
- Participate in inventory management, ensuring supplies and medications are stocked.
- Work under pressure to manage competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced setting.

- Prior experience as a Vet Assistant or Technician is ideal but not required. Training is available.
- Ability to follow protocols and maintain high standards of care.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
