THE POSITION
Inventory Clerk under general supervision, operates and participates in the operations of a central stores facility; performs related duties as required.
An Inventory Clerk manages a small central supplies and equipment center or participate in a larger stores operation. Incumbents requisition/purchase supplies and equipment, receive, store and distribute and may perform courier services. Assignments may be made in a general warehouse facility or a specialized operation such as a vehicle parts room. The limited scope of operations and variety of materials distinguish this class from Inventory Coordinator.
This position is allocated in multiple departments.

The current recruitment is to establish a supplemental list if the current eligible list is not viable.
Education And Experience Requirements
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; supplemented by three (3) months of full-time work experience, including one (1) month of experience in basic inventorying practices that demonstrates possession of and competency in the requisite knowledge and abilities.
Other Requirements
Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C California driver’s license is required.
Independent travel may be required.

02/17/2026 – 5:00PM (PST) - Deadline to submit application and required documents.

Based on the information provided in the application documents, the qualified applicants may be invited for further examination and will either be pre-scheduled by the Department of Human Resources or be invited to self-schedule. All applicants meeting the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination. Depending upon the number of applications received, the selection process may consist of an initial application screening, a mandatory information meeting, a supplemental questionnaire assessment, a written and/or practical exam, an oral board exam, or any combination listed. Responses to supplemental questions may be used as screening and testing mechanisms and will be used to assess an applicant’s ability to advance in the process; as such, responses to supplemental questions should be treated as test examination responses.
