POSITION OVERVIEW
Trade Marketing department is a cross-functional department spanning accounting, finance, sales, business operations, & marketing. Complete the Trade Marketing lifecycle of Promotion Planning à Invoiced Shipments à Expense Accrual à Customer Claims Receipt à Claims Settlement by processing customer claims and performing settlements of claims against accruals in order to maintain accurate and timely company financials. Trade Marketing Team, Sales Team, and Brokers– update results, progress, and resolving settlement issues. External Consultant – support and learn from external consultant (if applicable).
RESPONSIBILTIES
Trade Settlement:
- Match customer claims to approved promotional plans
- Work with Trade Marketing team, Sales, and Brokers to identify and resolve settlement issues
- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable team to maintain coordination between Trade Settlement and Invoicing, Cash Application & Customer Collections
- Issue customer checks as required and authorized through approved promotional activity
- Assist as part of the Trade Marketing team by identifying differences between how trade funds are accrued and how they are claimed in order to increase the accuracy and reliability of Trade Promotion planning and accrual
- Ad-hoc financial analyses as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Knowledge
- Major in Business. Accounting or Finance major preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Strong organizational and communication skills
· Capable of building effective relationships and successfully partnering with internal customers
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required
- Ability to understand and implement complex concepts, processes, and business structures
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:
Depends on Project—Primarily with a Sales Director, Trade Manager, & Accounting
External:
Depends on Project—Customer Accounting Dept., Category Manager, & Brokers
WORKING ENVIORNMENT
This job is in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, email, phones/cell, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. There is sitting and repetitive hand, finger and wrist use.
