POSITION SUMMARY:

SEA Licensed Clinician, with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, is a mental health professional who specializes in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating mental and emotional disorders, relationship issues, and behavioral issues. Licensed Clinicians provide services with client-centered and family-system approaches and are delivered through intensive, time-limited, goal specific interventions. Licensed Clinicians are trained in psychotherapy and family systems, and have clinical practice, training and experience. They use a family dynamics lens to understand people.  

Licensed Clinicians conduct mental health assessments and offer treatment for all in care as well as provide ongoing individual and group psychotherapy. Likewise, they assist and are supervised by SEA’s Psy. D, LMFT’s Director of Mental Health and Personnel Development for onboarding new SEA Case Managers, Community Intervention Workers, Ambassadors and Hospital Field Workers, as well as offering ongoing guidance and clinical training.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct mental health assessments of children, youth and family admitted to the program as well as provide ongoing individuals and group counseling, screening for human trafficking concerns. 

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy, utilizing various therapeutic modalities like cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy and humanistic therapy. 

  • Provide ongoing individual and crisis intervention, providing immediate support and stabilization. 

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with other professionals to provide comprehensive care. 

  • Prepare goal-oriented diagnostic assessments, group counseling, staff training and program enrichment. 

  • Provide guidance to all members of the program staff. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:


Any combination of experience and education likely to provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities, typically:  

 

  • All licensed clinical professionals must be bilingual (English-Spanish)

  • Licensed Clinicians are required to have a master’s degree or Psy, D, licensed by the State of California in marriage and family counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field with two years of postgraduate direct service delivery experience

  • All candidates must have Bachelor’s degree in social work, mental health or a related field  

  • Commitment to the mission and values of the non-profit sector, with a passion for social impact and community service

  • Must have valid CA Driver’s License, automobile, and proof of auto insurance 

  • Must be able to successfully pass Live Scan (background check)

  • Required TB Test clearance

  • Hospital Clearance Process (as required by program allocation)
