At Elliot General Surgery we are experts in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of conditions including diverticulitis, appendicitis, gallbladder disease, hernias, heartburn (GERD), hemorrhoids, and more. In addition to traditional open surgery, our board-certified general surgeon is skilled in robotic and minimally invasive surgical procedures.
Position Summary
This team works as a care team to provide professional care to patients with the following conditions/procedures: gallbladder, colon, hernia appendix, rectal, gynecological cancers. Responsibilities to include rooming patients, vital signs, updating history and medication list review, in office procedures, telephone triage, wound care, coordination of services with other team members and development of new services and programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Interviewing patients to gather information about their medical history and current symptoms, in person and over the phone.
- Rooming patients, including but not limited to checking blood pressure, weight, wound care, ostomy care, staple or suture removal, drain care.
- Assist providers with in-office procedures
- Collecting specimens
- Review results with on call PA
- Communicating with physicians and physician assistants of the care team about the patients statuses.
- Educate patients on their medical conditions, treatment plans and preventative care.
- Document all patient care activities as per documentation standards.
- FMLA and disability form completion
- Ordering of clinical supplies
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience/Licensure
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Licensure: New Hampshire Registered Nurse or Compact State Registered Nurse License.
- Technical Certification: Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment. ACLS preferred.
