TITLE: LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE MUSIC TEACHER, General Music (Grades K-5) & Strings JOB GOAL: To develop in each student an appreciation of the art of music as part of the general culture; to teach instrumental techniques of music expressions; to discover and develop talents of students in the field of music; to develop knowledge and skills in music as referenced in the State Frameworks, National Standards and the Somerset Music Curriculum.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: I. Demonstrates currency in the curriculum. A. Demonstrates a working knowledge of the core curriculum in both Band and General Music.B.
Frames curriculum around essential questions and key learning standards/concepts in Music that provide opportunities for reasoning, logic, analysis and synthesis when planning units, lessons, and assessments.C. Keeps current in the field of Music and applies knowledge to the instructional program.D.Contributes to the ongoing evaluation of the curriculum.II. Conducts effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction A. Effectively plans instruction and assessment in Music and monitors students understanding of the curriculum.
Adjusts instruction, materials, or assessments when appropriate. III.Manages the classroom environment and creates an atmosphere that is positive for student learning and involvement in Music.IV. Delivers instruction in Music effectively. A.
