Job Description
.1. Formulate and document data governance strategies, policies, and procedures, emphasising transparency and accountability. These documents serve as the foundational framework for the data governance program, outlining roles, responsibilities and processes to ensure that data is managed and used in a compliant and effective manner.
2. Develop data governance framework and guidelines, including data classification, data ownership, and data stewardship. This involves collaborating with various departments to create a unified set of rules and standards that govern how data should be handled, stored and accessed across the Group.
3. Define and enforce data governance standards, implementing quality assurance policies and practices to ensure data accuracy and consistency throughout the data lifecycle. This not only includes running regular audits and checks to validate data, but also involves liaising with data owners and consumers to correct any inaccuracies and ensure alignment with business goals.
4. Provide implementation guidance on data quality initiatives, including establishing data quality standards, conducting data profiling, and defining data quality rules and metrics.
5. Ensure data security and privacy compliance by providing implementation guidance on appropriate access controls, data classification protocols, and data protection measures for data handling and storage to comply with relevant laws and regulations.
6. Design data management processes, including data identification, metadata management, data lineage, and data cataloging.
7. Define data sharing and collaboration across the Group, ensuring data access, usability, and proper data sharing agreements.
8. Evaluate, select, and implement data governance tools and technologies to support data governance initiatives and enhance data management capabilities.
9. Provide guidance and training to business users and stakeholders on data governance best practices, policies, and procedures.
10. Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and regulatory requirements related to data governance, conduct risk assessments, and recommend appropriate modifications to existing policies and practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience in data governance or data analytics.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management or related field.
Prior experience in a data governance or data management role, with a focus on data quality, metadata management, and data stewardship.
Strong conceptual knowledge of Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, and Master Data Management.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in relevant data governance tools and applications.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Planning and project management skills with ability to adapt with new information and needs. Prioritization and time management skills
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional and geographically diverse organization.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex data concepts in simple terms.
Experience in training and mentoring team members on data governance practices.

Salary : $91,000 - $145,000
