Sonia Shankman Orthogenic School of Chicago, IL is seeking to hire full-time High School Teaching Assistants to play a vital role in our students' academic success. Teachers work Monday-Friday, 8:15am-4:30pm with a shortened academic day in the summer and time off in July and August.
We offer phenomenal comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance on Day 1 of employment; and annually up to 7 weeks of paid school breaks, 6 days of paid personal, 10 days of paid sick, and 11 paid holidays, company-paid short-term and long-term disability insurance, company-paid basic life and AD&D insurance, a 403(b)-retirement plan with Roth option, FSA, HSA, an employee assistance program, 529 college savings program, and tuition reimbursement program for continuing studies.

Education/Experience Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably with a background in counseling
- Illinois State Certification, Type 39 - within 90 days of employment
- Academic background in elementary education and/or a core content in a secondary education area preferred
- Experience with students with Emotional Disabilities and/or Autism preferred
- Two years of experience working with severely emotionally disturbed students as a counselor or within a classroom setting preferred
- Applicants should possess a strong commitment to strength perspective, empowering families and a willingness to work in a high demanding work situation that requires flexibility and innovativeness
