Greens Staff Member

The Sonnenalp is hiring a Seasonal Greens Staff Member. Must be available to work through October 31, 2024.

Wage $21.00 /hour

Typical Schedule

Primary Purpose of Position

Under direction of the Golf Course Superintendent, works on the diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction.  Learns the proper, safe, and efficient use of a wide variety of equipment.  Works as a member of a team with common goal of providing the best possible appearance and playing condition of the Sonnenalp Club.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates power equipment in mowing golf course greens, tees, aprons, fairways, parks, and rough areas.
• Rakes and maintains sand bunkers.
• Assists in construction of new greens, tees, fairways, or traps by grading, preparing soil, seeding or sodding turf.
• Operates dump trucks and other light utility vehicles in hauling materials and removing debris.
• Assists in maintaining water features and waterways.
• Operates hand held trimmers and mowers.
• Changes cups and tee markers; maintains ball washers and trash cans.
• Hand waters areas of greens and tees if needed.
• Removes trash and debris from the golf course and project.
• Assists in the repair/installation of irrigation system.
• Cleans and cares for equipment used.
• Serves as a public relations representative for company both on and off the job.
• Keeps tool and equipment storage clean and organized.
• Performs duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Works well with and assists co-workers in the performance of their duties.

Education/Experience

• Previous golf course experience preferred, but not required. 

Special Skills/Equipment

• Ability to learn to operate golf course equipment safely and efficiently. 
• Ability to follow both written and oral directions. 
• Must be able to work weekends and long hours as business permits.  
• Ability to drive golf equipment.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Requires weekend availability and ability to work long hours as business dictates. 
• Position is outdoors in all weather conditions. 
• Frequent reaching, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and balancing
• Able to stand and/or walk for duration of shift
• Able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 lbs
• Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
