Position: General Laborer
Pay: $20.00/hr
Shift: rotating 4 consecutive day or night, 12-hour schedule

Sonoco has an opening for an entry level production worker with their Chattanooga, TN facility. This position reports directly to the training manager.
What You Will Be Doing
- Assist in the felting of the machine and start up.
- Assist in removing broke from all areas after a sheet break or start up.
- Assist with hauling rejected rolls to roll splitter, and split rolls if necessary.
- Assist with retrieving all necessary shipping materials from storage area
- Inspect powered equipment each shift and complete daily forklift inspection sheet
- Train on operating fork truck
- Cutting/removal of wire on bales of waste paper
- Operate guillotine to process scrap rolls
- Able to identify grades of waste paper
- Responsible for housekeeping in the assigned area
- 2 years of manufacturing experience within the last 5 years
- Ability to withstand demanding physical labor and harsh conditions - extreme heat (120 degrees F in summer)
- Must possess a strong sense of teamwork and caring for the safety of yourself and others.
- Willing to work in a tobacco free environment.
