Role and Responsibilities
- Support practices, policies, and strategies that support a continuous improvement of company culture.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance in all retail transactions.
- Model the company core values at all times when representing the company.
- Communicates the details of daily operations to management.
- Oversee procedures related to opening, operations, and closing of the retail store.
- Participate in training, continuous development, and success of employees.
- Stay informed and knowledgeable about state and local laws, regulations and industry news.
- Interface with regulators and law enforcement as required.
- Oversee all aspects of the sales floor to maintain a clean, inviting, professional environment.
- Perform inventory reconciliation as required.
- Report all adverse events; participate in or lead deviation investigations.
- Additional duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- One year of progressively responsible retail experience
- Experience in the cannabis industry required
- Understanding of inventory management practices
- Expert level knowledge of strains, genetics, growing and effects of cannabis and cannabis infused products.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and current electronic POS, and generally computer literate
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of a fluid schedule and changing priorities.
- Integrity beyond reproach
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Desire to achieve success and a work ethic to match
- Must be at least 21 years old and must pass criminal record check
Expectations
- Provide exceptional customer service to every person who enters the facility
- Generate sales through customer interaction, product assistance, and suggestive selling
- Educate new clientele on the different effects of cannabis
- Prevent asset loss through proper floor awareness
- Execute an attention to detail by performing counter transactions without errors or shortages
- Adhere to store visual directives, maintenance standards, and cleanliness standards
- Consistently exemplify a teamwork attitude with management and coworkers to improve personal and store performance
- Communicate effectively with management and coworkers concerning business issues and opportunities
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, and follow all safety standards to ensure a safe work and shopping environment
- Support the Store Management team in driving and maximizing store sales, controlling and minimizing shrinkage to achieve store goals
- Complete all other duties as assigned
Key Performance Indicators:
- All sales and inventory information is current and accurate in the electronic Point of Sale (POS) System
- All supporting records, logs, ledgers and documentation is current and accurate
- The sales floor is clean, inviting, professional, and compliant at all times
- Achieve or exceed retail sales goals
Preferred Skills
Excellent time management skills, multi-tasking abilities and capable of organizing tasks within shifts. Ability to work on several requests simultaneously without losing focus. High attention to detail. Extremely organized. Able to deal with complex issues in a fast-paced setting/ Self-motivated with a results-driven approach. Create and maintain a proactive and positive environment. Ability to use initiative and independent judgment appropriately while not overstepping the chain of command.
