What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Leader position at Sonoma County Family YMCA?
Pay rate: $17.44-$24/hour (based on experience)
This position is part-time.
Availability to work weekdays from 7am-9am and/or 2pm-6pm desirable.

Our Recreation Leaders work as a team to build a positive and supportive environment for elementary school aged children. Recreation Leaders ensure social, physical, spiritual and mental development needs are being met through the planning and leading of enrichment activities in a before/after school setting.
Successful candidates for this position possess the following skills-
- Passion for working with elementary school aged children.
- Supportive of diversity and inclusion in all interactions.
- Strong communication.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse team.
Minimum Qualifications-
- Minimum 16 years of age.
- Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children in a classroom, recreation or camp setting.
- Fingerprint clearance from both Department of Justice (DOJ) & FBI, which includes sex offender screening.
Preferred Qualifications-
- CPR/First Aid certification (or the ability to be certified within the first 60 days of hire)
- Language skills in Spanish.
- Experience or a passion to share skills in STEM, art, sports, music, large/small group games, crafts, tutoring, etc.
