Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Quality Specialist at soulbrain MI in Kokomo, IN. The Quality Specialist will be responsible for tasks related to quality control, quality assurance, and quality auditing in the production of high-purity electrolytes for lithium-ion batteries.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Work with the Quality Manager to develop, implement, communicate, and maintain quality system procedures and standards in compliance with ISO 9001/IATF 16949.
- Assist the Quality Manager in developing and analyzing reports on quality metrics and performance to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct Incoming Quality Control (IQC) and Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) inspections to verify product quality, ensuring all products and processes meet internal and customer requirements.
- Perform internal audits to monitor compliance with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 and company standards, preparing for and responding to both internal and customer audits.
- Review and approve analytical data throughout the electrolyte manufacturing process, documenting inspection results and maintaining detailed records for traceability and compliance.
- Analyze quality data to identify trends, defects, and areas for improvement, addressing any non-conformance issues and supporting problem-solving activities related to corrective and preventive actions.
- Interface with customer quality representatives to address issues, concerns, and feedback, providing quality-related support to other departments as needed.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all company and industry safety standards, including OSHA regulations.
- Perform additional administrative tasks and activities as directed by the Quality Supervisor to support plant operations.
Education and Work experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (Chemical Engineering preferred)
- 2 experience in an ISO 9001- or IATF 16949-registered chemical manufacturing facility preferred
Skills
- Bilingual in Korean and English (required)
- Demonstrated meticulous attention to detail
- Knowledge of statistics and statistical process control is preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
