What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Labor - St. Clair position at Soundwich?
The General Laborer works to load/unload material, inspect product to ensure quality standards, and pack finished parts according to specifications. Reads measuring equipment: micrometers, calipers, tape measurers, etc. The General Laborer is responsible for maintaining first-in/first out material flow and good housekeeping standards. Other duties will be assigned by supervisor as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Load/unload materials
- Inspect products for quality
- Pack finished parts
- Housekeeping
- Any other responsibility deemed by Soundwich Management to be in the best interest of Soundwich and our Customers.
Requirements:
- General mechanical knowledge and ability
- Drive and operate forklift (not required, but a plus)
- Basic mathematical understanding and ability (add, subtract, divide units of measurement)
- Ability to follow basic work instructions
- Good communication skills, verbal and able to write simple sentences to provide information
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to find information and enter data
- Analytical skills necessary to inspect parts to established specifications and communicate deviations to supervisor
- Read and understand schematics
- Minimum Language Skills: English
