Position Title: Coordinator of Technology Systems Salary Range: 65,000-75,000 Contract Length: 12- month Immediate Supervisor: Chief Technology Officer Basic Function: Coordinator of Technology Systems will report to the Chief Technology Officer and will coordinate, organize and facilitate the effective utilization, maintenance, and implementation of technology within the school district. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Maintain specialized and advanced knowledge of networking hardware and software. Install patches and upgrades during maintenance windows. Survey hardware and software trends, makes strategic recommendations relative to new advances and needs of the district. Make recommendations for hardware and software purchases, including cost/benefit analysis. Provide day to day leadership for all systems personnel. Provide yearly performance reviews of all systems personnel. Work directly with the CTO to create the department's strategic plan for both short and long term timelines. Manage all system hardware and software projects, deployments, and maintenance. Maintain documentation on infrastructure setup and maintenance. Design, implements, and maintains Virtualization Infrastructure. Vet OS and application software that might be of use for future sites or installation. Deploy new and updated software to support the district's initiatives. Deploy and maintain remote management software for configuration and management of end-user devices. Work as Corporation Technology Testing Coordinator in collaboration with the Department of Testing and Evaluation. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on multiple platforms and implement appropriate solutions. Escalate technical support issues as appropriate. Maintain confidentiality of user account information and stored data within the confines of the Corporation's Acceptable Use Policy and Procedures. Keep education current on appropriate technologies. Provide preventive maintenance. Possess knowledge of district and school personnel and procedures. Maintain Directory Services including Microsoft Active Directory and LDAPv3 Open Directory. Perform other duties as assigned. Formal Education & Certification: University degree in computer science, engineering or technology related field; or equivalent experience. Knowledge & Experience: Minimum of two years direct experience in enterprise-level MDM and deployment software Minimum of two years direct experience in enterprise-level virtualization solutions Ability to quickly learn and take advantage of new technologies and concepts. Ability to learn new applications easily and quickly leverage current application knowledge to identify changes to increase efficiency. Ability to read and understand complex computer system documentation; this job requires some technical writing skills for creating documentation for new and existing web applications. Multi-task orientation to handle a number of projects at once while remaining flexible to changing requirements and priorities. Knowledge of VMware preferred. Knowledge of Filewave preferred. Personal Attributes: Excellent written and verbal skills in order to effectively communicate quality technical and functional system specifications. Exceptional service orientation. Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language. Exceptionally self-motivated and directed. Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities. Work Conditions: On-call availability for emergencies and cabinet-level issues. Periodic travel. Physical Demands: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other technologies and office equipment, sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time; kneeling; bending at the waist; lifting; pushing; pulling and carrying equipment, supplies and materials weighing up to 50 pounds; repetitive hand movement and fine coordination to use a computer keyboard; emotional stability to work effectively under pressure and to keep all aspects of the job under control; hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone; seeing to read; prepare and assure the accuracy of documents.
