What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cube Line General Laborer - 2nd Shift position at South Chicago Packing LLC?
Position Description:
Perform various duties to assist in the day to day operations of the packaging production line, with a Safety-minded attitude that maintains and enhances a Safety-culture for the benefit of the Company and its employees.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Performs all duties and requirements in a safe and orderly manner
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Required to maintain rate of the packaging line operation being performed
- Moves, stores and stacks materials and products by hand or with material handling equipment
- Adjusts and monitors equipment, advising lead person of irregularities
- Identifies line needs due to packaging/product quality and confers needs with lead person
- Contributes to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed
- Train hourly employees on various functions like palletizers, box machines, and forklift as needed

Requirements:
- Basic English
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication)
- Able to communicate effectively orally, bilingual preferred
- Able to work variable shifts; overtime and weekends as needed
- Able to work in a team environment
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift in excess of 75 pounds on a consistent basis
- Able to tolerate extreme temperatures (heat/cold)
- Able to tolerate heights
- Standing/walking 100% of the workday
- Twist, bend and stoop approx. 5% of the workday
Training Period:
- 1 - 3 months meeting all above requirements
