ABOUT THIS JOB
Under general supervision, General Maintenance Workers are responsible for performing a wide variety of journey-level maintenance duties involving South Coast AQMD-owned machinery, equipment and facilities, including the headquarters building, and other South Coast AQMD facilities throughout the area we serve.
This position will perform a wide variety of duties, including skilled maintenance work on machinery, equipment and structures. This work will take place at our headquarters building and at other South Coast AQMD facilities throughout the area we serve. This job may require working evening or weekend hours, as assigned, to accomplish tasks, tenant improvement projects or other activities.

Apply architectural coatings such as well patch compound and paint on rough and finished surfaces to buildings, furniture or equipment as required.
Construct, install and repair structures; interior steel frame wall construction, install doors, door frames, interior and exterior trim and hardware.
Troubleshoot, maintain and repairs of HVAC system components including exhaust fans, air handlers, zone comfort controls, chilled and hot water plant equipment.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
NOTE: This job requires the ability to bend, stretch, stoop, push, pull, carry and/or lift heavy furniture, equipment and other objects in the course of work. It will require heavy lifting of up to as much as 90 pounds occasionally, when handling a bag of cement, for example.
LICENSE: Possession of a valid California Class "C" Driver's License and a good driving record.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
