Job Summary
This position cleans and sanitizes floors, walls, and furniture in offices and residential living areas. Cleans bathrooms to ensure sanitary conditions are met. Will assist with snow removal using hand tools as needed. Keeps walkways and entrances to buildings free of ice and snow.
Working hours may vary depending on the project load and assignment.
Knowledge of:
- heating and cooling systems, electrical, and plumbing maintenance work;
- custodial and grounds maintenance duties;
- security procedures.
Ability to:
- follow directions;
- operate required equipment;
- perform heavy lifting and physical labor;
- operate a variety of motorized vehicles;
- use a variety of hand and power tools;
- work from ladders and scaffolding;
- deal courteously with the public;
- work outdoors;
- must be flexible to be called in during weather events such as blizzards;
- will be required to use chemicals that kill bacteria;
- must have the ability to use janitorial equipment such as buffers, mops, brooms, vacuums, etc.
This position is eligible for Veterans’ Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
