What you will do:
The Division of Child Protection Services (CPS) is looking to recruit a professional to assist in the implementation of CPS programs and activities. The primary duties associated with the position include:
- Assisting program professionals with daily operation processes. This includes oversight of daily business tasks, monitoring and tracking grants or contracts, compiling monthly reports, resolving vendor problems, or other work as assigned.
- Implementing programs that strive to support the permanency and wellbeing of children This includes program research using external sources, enhancement of tracking systems, development of program training, creation of program materials, and evaluating external program processes to determine their effectiveness.
- Providing internal and external communication to CPS staff and stakeholders. This includes serving as the first point of contact for the Social Security Administration, informing and educating field staff and stakeholders on program policy, and reporting stakeholder concerns to program professionals;
- Acting as a dedicated agent, with oversight from the agency, to manage and receive financial benefits that meet the needs of vulnerable children. This includes adding and tracking revenue, management of bank accounts with secondary oversight, monitoring processes to ensure the required steps and documentation are completed within compliance of program policy, making decisions on behalf of the agency by interpreting policy set by the Social Security Administration, and answering questions or advising external participates on specific program processes.
Working Conditions:
Duties are performed in a typical office environment. This position is at risk for indirect exposure to traumatic events and crisis situations during regular work duties.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
At least two years’ work experience as a business or program assistant.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

- actively listen, elicit needed information, and communicate information effectively and accurately, both orally and in writing;
- utilize computerized data and technology systems;
- prepare clear and concise documentation, reports, and correspondence that reflect relevant facts;
- utilize time management skills and prioritization of multiple demands in a fast-paced environment;
- assume initiative with minimal supervision while utilizing critical thinking skills;
- interpret and comprehend program guidelines and procedures;
- ability to conduct research, compile, and analyze data;
- train and provide guidance to staff and service users.
