Insurance Verification Specialist

Job Title: Insurance Verification/Pre Certification Coordinator
Location: Mt. Laurel, NJ
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 hour shift between 8:00 am - 5:30 pm

• Verify and review all documentation received from referring doctor
• Responsible to email scheduling the Faxage request timely
• Verify coverage for insurance plans and take action to begin authorization process
• Responsible for communication to ordering doctor regarding status of authorization (Approved, Denied, Appeal needed, etc.)
• Responsible for daily review of pre-authorization report to perform necessary functions.
• Verify accuracy of pre-authorization number.
• Verify that procedure is pre-authorized to LIA and SJRA.
• Verify that procedure(s) authorized match the procedure(s) scheduled.
• Verify effective date and expiration date of authorization
• Take appropriate action to resolve any discrepancy, including contacting referring physician’s office if necessary.
• Responsible for verifying coverage for insurance plans as assigned on report.
• Ensure plan participation by LIA and SJRA.
• Verify complete benefits and add PFE/Copay alerts for payment @TOS

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with insurance verification and pre-certification
• Working knowledge of insurance and billing functions
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Detail oriented
• Ability to multitask in a busy work environment
• Excellent computer skills, proficient keyboarding and data entry skills
• Knowledge of office equipment (i.e. copy machine, scanner, fax machine, multiline telephone)
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with patients and coworkers
