Internship & Experience Coach
Reports to: Administrative Team (Principal/Assistant Principal)
Purpose: The Internship & Experience Coach will initiate, organize, and support high school internships throughout the community for all interested students. This person will also provide professional development and support to staff as they create meaningful experiences for students within their classroom and outside of the school.
Qualifications:
- Must hold or be eligible to for a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License.
- At least 3 years of successful K-12 teaching experience.
- Experience building business, education, and community partnerships that provide opportunities for students.
- Experience in engaging, building, and maintaining relationships with students and staff.
- Experience in contacting, engaging, and maintaining relationships with parents/guardians/caregivers.
- Ability to lead and motivate staff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Collaborate with administration, teachers, and staff to develop high school internship opportunities.
- Help develop and implement high school internship expectations and requirements that provide opportunities for students to have meaningful experiences outside of the classroom.
- Collaborate with businesses and community partners to establish guidelines and support the implementation of student internships and experiences.
- Host family and student events to provide information regarding high school internships and work-based learning.
- Provide feedback and grades for students throughout the high school internship and at the conclusion of the experience.
- Assist in organizing resources to support students as they complete their high school internship.
- Work with individual students and small groups of students to provide support during high school internships.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of high school internships.
- Other duties as assigned.
Term of Employment: Full-time 10 months
