Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Optician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist patients in selecting eyewear, perform optical measurements, and support the overall functioning of our optical practice. This role requires a strong understanding of optics and retail sales, with the ability to provide exceptional patient service in a fast-paced environment. The Optician should have the ability to evaluate eyeglass problems, leaving patients satisfied.Must have the ability to use a Lensometer for lens evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses based on their prescription, lifestyle, and preferences
- Take precise measurements for eyewear fitting, including pupillary distance.
- Educate patients on lens options and proper eyewear maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality

- Manage retail sales transactions efficiently while providing excellent customer service
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.Skills
- Experience with optical equipment, laboratory procedures, and retail management system.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics and senior care populations
- Retail math skills for managing sales transactions accurately
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security
