Position Overview
Seeking self motivated individual who has a passion for caring for the elderly in their own environment. Must be compassionate and understanding of the special needs associated with elderly patients. - Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 1 years’ nursing experience in a med-surg facility
-Valid nursing license
-Must possess the knowledge of clinical, psychosocial, and patho/ physiological theories related to nursing diagnosis and treatment and can competently perform the range of nursing techniques found in general nursing practice, as normally acquired through completion of an accredited nursing program.
-Willingness to work a flexible schedule and to fill in when needed
-Excellent bedside manner and commnunication skills
-Ability to explain treatments and conditions to the elderly population in a manner they can understand
-Working knowledge of health care laws and regulations
Duties and Responsibilities:
Applicant must have reliable transportation
working knowledge of medications, fill med planners when required, administer injections as needed, lab draws, and perform wound care as prescribed by the Physician
Communicate with physicians, RNs, CNAs, radiologists and other medical professionals
Collaborate with physicians to create a Plan of Care for each patient
Create and contribute to patients’ medical records Via Kinnser/Wellsky EMR
Respond to inquiries, concerns and complaints from patients
Counsel patients and family members before, during and after treatment
