Overview
SCCI is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team! In this position you will provide software engineering support services for a major shipboard weapon system program. This support includes, but not limited to, software engineering applied to program development, modeling and simulation, the analysis, refinement, and development of mathematical algorithms and software tools (developed in Ada, C, or other programming language as specified) for track filtering, ballistics, projectile track, calibration, and prototyping of GWS software and command and control (C&C) software. This position will be located in Dahlgren, VA. and in support of future work expected to start in 2024.
Responsibilities:
- Work within the Agile Methodology workflow
- Provide Software Engineering technical support
- Support software engineering code - design reviews
- Perform requirements assessments and requirements decomposition
- Code to model system behavior through functional flows and functional descriptions
- Develop and brief software engineering presentations and reports
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an Active Secret Security Clearance
- A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
- Five (5) years of full-time professional experience in Software Engineering applied to program development, modeling, and/or simulation
Specialized Experience:
- At least two (2) years of continuous support of at least one major weapons system
- Demonstrates understanding of technical aspects required to develop large complex software-intensive systems
- Proficient in software development using at least two (2) of the following: Windows, various Linux distributions (e.g. Red Hat), C/C and Java programming languages
- Ability to write unit tests for Java and/or C user interfaces
- Ability to develop software using pair programming and swarming techniques under agile processes
