Southeastern Louisiana University invites applicants for the position of Lecturer in the Department of English. Lecturer positions are part-time temporary positions (up to 3 classes for 1-semester) on campus (face to face) or with Dual Enrollment (online classroom visits), and require a Master's degree in English or a related field with at least eighteen hours of graduate level courses in English.

Responsibilities:
- Teach courses in the areas of Freshman Composition and Research/Argument
- Develop and deliver engaging and interactive lessons to students
- Utilize effective teaching strategies to facilitate student learning and engagement
- Assess student performance and provide timely feedback
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and administration
- Utilize technology and learning management systems to enhance instruction
- Stay current with advancements in the field and incorporate relevant updates into curriculum
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in English, or a related field with at least 18 hours of graduate level English courses
- Experience working with adult learners in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge and expertise in composition, rhetoric, research, and argument.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Familiarity with library services and resources is preferred
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs of students
- Prior experience working with students from diverse backgrounds is a plus
Note: This is an adjunct position, which means it is part-time and does not include benefits. The schedule may vary based on course availability.
