Adaptive Swim Lesson Instructor

Overview
Southeastern Swim School is looking for qualified, driven and passionate instructors to work with kids of all ages with diagnosed sensory and special needs. With the focus being on leaning essential water safety skills, strokes and gaining confidence in the water.

As a Swim Instructor, you will play a crucial role in educating students of all ages and abilities on swimming techniques, water safety, and personal fitness. Your ability to engage with children and manage their behavior will be essential in creating a positive learning environment.

All Instructors will be required to wear the Southeastern Swim School swim shirt that is provided at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Educate kids on proper swimming techniques and water safety practices.
• Follow a lesson plan that is created for you based on the parents goals.
• Conduct swim lessons for individuals with diagnosed sensory and special needs.
• Implement behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and enjoyable learning atmosphere. You will have help with this from the Swim School Director.

Skills

• Strong swimming skills with the ability to demonstrate various techniques effectively.
• Individuals with the basic knowledge of swimming or on a competitive swim team at some point. (Preferred, not required)
• Experience working with children in educational settings, specifically experience working with kids with special needs or our neurodivergent community in Hamilton County.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to effectively convey instructions.

Schedule

• Willing to work Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings from anywhere between 5-7 PM

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 – 4 per week
