We are seeking a compassionate and experienced tutor with expertise in supporting students with disabilities or unique learning needs. This position is ideal for educators who are passionate about individualized instruction and committed to fostering a positive learning environment. Sessions will be conducted under the guidance of a certified teacher, ensuring alignment with educational standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to students with disabilities or unique needs.
- Collaborate with certified teachers to develop and implement tailored instructional plans based on each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or unique learning profile.
- Utilize adaptive teaching methods, tools, and strategies to address diverse learning styles and needs.
- Build rapport with students, fostering trust and confidence in their abilities.
- Monitor and document student progress, identifying areas of improvement and adjusting instruction as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school staff to ensure alignment on goals and progress.
- Maintain a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that promotes growth and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience working with students with disabilities, learning differences, or other unique needs.
- Strong understanding of IEPs, 504 plans, and specialized instructional strategies.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusivity and equity in education.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive resources is a plus.
- Certified teacher license preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with de-escalation strategies and positive behavioral interventions.
- Knowledge of state standards and curriculum requirements in Tennessee.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and support staff.
Work Environment:
- Flexible scheduling, including options for in-person, virtual, or hybrid tutoring sessions.
- Work locations vary depending on student needs, including homes, schools, or community settings.
Compensation:
- $22-$25 per hour, paid weekly or biweekly depending on scheduling and arrangements.
