Position Summary

The Financial Aid Advisor administers financial aid programs to prospective and current students and is responsible for performing various duties associated with awarding, disbursing and returning federal, state and other financial assistance programs. This position is best suited for those who have strong work ethic, exceptional interpersonal skills and are detail oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Guide prospective and current students throughout the financial aid process. Answer questions, inquiries and requests from students and parents.
  • Exercise independent professional judgement to counsel students on financial aid packages based on individual circumstances.
  • Review financial aid applications, forms and documents for completeness and accuracy. Complete verification procedures where required.
  • Input information into various applications for the processing of financial aid awards, including the school’s student information systems and EdExpress.
  • Perform entrance and exit counseling.
  • Assist in the accurate reporting of financial aid information to auditors and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the Admissions Office and work with Admissions Office Staff for the timely processing of student enrollments.
  • Remain current on all federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to financial aid programs administered by the school.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher.
  • At least two years of experience as a Financial Aid Advisor, Financial Aid Officer or similar role at an accredited higher education institution.
