Loan Specialist Document Services I

POSITION SUMMARY

Prepare loan packages for Commercial/Consumer retail loans and initial disclosures for Mortgage loan transactions. Promptly deliver packages to the Lending Team with an elevated level of accuracy, prompt responses and Client First Service. Understand lending regulations for all loan types including Consumer Real Estate (TRID). Provide the services of a gatekeeper for the Bank’s Credit Policy. Maintain client relationship for Mortgage loans held on the bank’s portfolio.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with the lending team to ensure all necessary documentation is received and uploaded to the loan file prior to closing.
• Review uploaded documentation for completeness and accuracy, including corporate entity documents to understand structure and verify signing authority.
• Prepare loan packages for all loan types including renewals and modifications.
• Prepare Early Disclosures for Home Equity Lines of Credit within the defined regulatory time limits.
• Prepare Loan Estimates and Closing Disclosures within the defined regulatory time limits.
• Monitor loan pipelines to ensure all loan packages are prepared on time.
• Ensure all loan packages are complete, accurate and follow Bank policy and regulatory guidelines.
• Support inquiries from the lending team by responding promptly and professionally.
• Work with attorneys/paralegals to accurately prepare and deliver Closing Disclosures.
• Support Mortgage loan clients with post-closing requests received via Loan Servicing Help Desk, email, and/or VOICE calls
• Follow up with clients promptly with updates regarding Mortgage loan servicing requests
• Back up other members of Document Services to ensure the department meets its goal to promptly address loan requests.
• Assist and/or train other team members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Loan Specialist I

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 to 2 years banking or loan operations experience.
• Understanding of commercial and consumer lending practices.
• Excellent oral & written communication, interpersonal skills, and customer service.
• Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to recognize and question process or procedure deviations that may indicate special handling is needed.
• Self-motivated and a team player, with desire to promote a collaborative work environment.
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose challenges and provide workable resolutions.
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.

BENEFICIAL SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience with LaserPro, Encompass and/or FIS Horizon preferred
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
• Understanding of TRID requirements and timelines

 Loan Specialist II

Additional requirements:

• Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline preferred.
• 2 to 5 years banking or loan operations experience.
• Subject matter expert within core position.

 Loan Specialist III

Additional requirements:

• Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline preferred.
• 5 years banking or loan operations experience.
• Subject matter expert within core position, provides leadership.
• Competency in multiple loan operations functions.

 WORK CONDITIONS

• This position must be able to sit for long periods of time as the position involves the majority of time spent at a computer.
• This position requires little to no travel.
