Position Overview
The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announces an examination process to create an eligibility list to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Epidemiologist in the Disease Surveillance & Control Division. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to four (4) months.
Responsible for conducting disease surveillance and recommend disease control measures; evaluates public health data including unusual occurrences of health conditions; functions as a member of a multidisciplinary outbreak investigation and response team; provides epidemiologic information to the medical community and general public.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Training:
* A Masters' Degree in Public Health with an emphasis in epidemiology or a related field.
Experience:
* One (1) year of experience in performing epidemiological analyses and investigations; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
License or Certificate:
* Nevada Driver's License.
Preferred Qualification:
* Statistical analysis experience preferred

Selection Process
The selection process will begin with an employment application screening, with the best-qualified candidates being invited to participate further in the assessment process. This process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
