Front End Lead
The Front End Lead provides the retail store with essential register operations; excellent customer service and sales floor functions. Assists in proper store operation by performing assigned advanced tasks and providing leadership to assigned personnel. Performance expectations are generally higher based on additional knowledge, skills and abilities.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: This list is not all-inclusive. Individual may be expected to perform job-related duties other than those contained in this document and may be required to have specific job-related knowledge and skills.
- Performs a variety of production and retail duties, including but not limited to such tasks as customer service, cashier, sorting donated items, pricing, rotating items, working retail sales floor, dressing room upkeep, maintenance of department equipment, inventories. May work independently without benefit of additional workers.
- Ensures sales floor functions run smoothly and effectively without sacrificing customer service and efficiency.
- Supervises the work of department employees. Helps train and develop employees.
- Ensures each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly and clean environment, greeting and acknowledging every customer, and all other aspects of customer service.
- Collects cash, checks, charge payments, vouchers and makes change. Provides receipt to customer.
- Completes departmental and store paperwork (including inventories, store orders, end of day reports, balancing tills, bank deposits).
- Assists with customer service in other areas, including donors and callers.
- Resolves minor personnel issues in professional, effective manner.
- Provides input to store manager regarding employee performance.
- Accurately performs all register procedures, including opening, closing and verifying start fund, counting down register, deposits, processing detail paperwork. Ensures register tills and deposits are properly secured. Signs credit slips. Performs cashier audits. Performs cash drops.
- Maintains area by cleaning glass cases, counters, straightening cash register area, and stocking area with supplies.
- Actively promotes all fundraising efforts associated with the retail function, e.g., increasing average customer sale and special events.
- Works a variety of schedules, including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years recent experience in a Goodwill production or retail system.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Possesses a greater level of knowledge, skill and ability in retail thrift store operations to ensure a higher level of organization and customer service.
- Sufficient command of the English language to communicate with customers and coworkers.
- Ability to determine quality and condition of donated merchandise, price accordingly.
- Ability to read labels and instructions.
- Proficient in basic math.
- Ability to operate a variety of production equipment, including electronic cash register and other retail sales equipment.
- Ability to perform some instructing, checking or verifying of the work of others.

Light to medium physical demand level. Throughout the course of the workday handles and moves a large amount of materials around the worksite. Ability to push/pull and carry up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Pushes heavy wheeled carts, pallet jacks, hand trucks and other material handling equipment with loads weighing up to 250 pounds occasionally. Ability to stand and walk on hard surface floor for extended period of up to 8 hours. Ability to perform repetitive tasks for up to 8 hours. Must be able to work with others in congested areas. Ability to visually inspect merchandise to ensure that quality and product safety guidelines are being met. Ability to observe merchandise presentation, floor layout, safety and security concerns. Reaching (frequently above shoulder level), handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing is a significant part of the job. Kneels, stoops and bends when retrieving or placing items. Capable of hearing and responding to warning devices on equipment, forklifts and trucks. Ability to occasionally climb ladders. Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the operation. Work is performed indoors in a heated space. Occasionally perform work in outside weather
Salary : $29,500 - $37,300
