We employ a staff of technicians available for scale installation, maintenance and calibration to ensure the proper functioning of your scale or weight measurement device for years to come. As members of the International Society of Weighing & Measurement, SSCI keeps up with rapidly changing technology as well as changes in regulations administered by the National Institute of Standards & Technology.

Job Description

This position entails the installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing of mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic scales and weighing systems along with peripheral devices such as computers and software, printers, packaging machines, vacuum pack machines, and drum filling machines. 

We have an immediate opening for an individual who can operate our heavy duty test truck to conduct inspections of truck scales around the State of Louisiana and Mississippi which requires a Class B Commercial Drivers License and an excellent driving record history.

Service Technicians work alone or in teams and in diverse settings, such as commercial, and industrial to test, diagnose, repair, overhaul, and execute scale system repairs while ensuring customer satisfaction. Technicians will have a understanding of all company and customer safety requirements and industry standards along with scale terminology and the specifications, tolerances, and other technical requirements for weighing and measuring devices as describe in NIST Handbook 44. Prior service technician experience in mechanical, electrical, and electronic fields desired. TWIC card, safety certifications, and CDL a major plus for interested candidates.

Qualifications

  • Military veterans requested to apply
  • Recent technical experience in mechanical, electrical, and electronics field
  • Capable of working independently and as a member of a team
  • Possess TWIC card
  • CDL
  • Current OSHA safety certifications
  • Capable of working in industrial and outdoor environments
  • Capable of lifting 25 poiund weights repeatively
  • Ability to read and understand maintenance manuals and work from blueprints, drawings, installing weighing equipment, wiring terminations, final testing and calibration of system to ensure that they are properly functioning.
  • Ability to perform extensive job-related travel and after regular hour services.
