What are the responsibilities and job description for the HCV Coordinator position at Southern Tier AIDS Program Inc?
Southern Tier AIDS Program, Inc. is seeking a HCV Coordinator in our Ithaca and Johnson city offices. This position is responsible for the day to day administration of the agency’s Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) screening, testing, linkage, navigation services program, as well as developing, delivering and evaluating program services, and completion of required reporting. Provides oversight to staff providing HCV related services to clients. Provides direct services related to: Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)/Hepatitis C (HCV) & Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) prevention education, antibody screening/testing, adherence support, linkage/navigation/escort services, completion of linkage action plans, and audit/chart review/compliance activities for the program. Presents community education about HCV screening/testing and navigation services. This position supervises the HCV Navigation Peer and other assigned staff members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Community Mental Health, Education, Social Work, Nursing, Sociology or a related field and two years’ experience. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years providing direct service working in human services.
- Previous experience working with individuals who have been diagnosed with HIV and/or chronic Hepatitis C, people who are experiencing homelessness, or individuals with active substance use preferred.
- Experience working in syringe exchange, substance use treatment, and/or screening/testing programs desired.
- Computer literacy, organizational skills, public speaking and presentation skills, strong interpersonal skills,
- Knowledge and acceptance of the Harm Reduction philosophy required.
Salary:
- $18.14/hour working 35-hours per week, may vary depending upon experience.
