NOTICE OF TWO VACANCIES
POSITION: Food Service Technician
Work Days: Monday through Friday (School year)
LOCATION: 1) Hatton Elementary School – Work Hours: 9:30 am to 1:00 pm
2) Strong Elementary School – Work Hours: 10:30 am to 1:30 pm
SALARY: $16.79 per hour to $20.75 per hour
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
· Carry out assigned food preparation tasks (cooking and serving) at the direction of the manager and/or assistant manager.
· Receive and store food according to the specifications of the manager and/or assistant manager.
· Maintain sanitary and health standards in accordance with the CT Public Health code.
· Operate cash registers in school cafeteria (training provided).
· Sanitize all kitchen equipment and assist with closing duties of the kitchen at the end of the lunch period.
· Maintain confidentiality of any student information.
· Assist in any related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum of high school diploma, experience with National School Lunch Program preferred.
· Experience in food preparation. Knowledge of sanitation requirements.
· Qualified Food Operator Sanitation Certification required.
· Ability to lift and tolerate hot/cold temperatures while working with kitchen equipment to effectively meet the physical demands of the position.
· Ability to interact with students and staff in a positive a pleasant manner.
· Neat, clean, physical stamina and moral character to accommodate job requirements.
