What are the responsibilities and job description for the POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER - Heliospheric Physics position at Southwest Research Institute?

Objectives of this Role:
- Lead original scientific studies in heliospheric physics.
- Participate in mission and instrumentation planning and development for future missions.
- Develop new ideas that advances understanding of the physical processes in the inner heliosphere.
- Collaborate with SwRI diverse research teams and publish in high impact, peer-reviewed journals.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Participate and carry out original research in experimental space physics.
- Publish original research in peer-reviewed articles and present results at relevant meetings.
- Support the development of instruments to be flown on upcoming heliophysics or planetary missions.
- Interact with SwRI Staff engaged in a broad range of observational, computational, and theoretical research in the physics of the heliosphere.
Requirements:
- Requires a PhD in Space Physics, Plasma Physics or related field.
- 1 years: Post PhD experience with IDL and Python.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
Special Requirements:
This is a 2 year limited term assignment.
