Title: Director, Teaching Center

POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of the Teaching Center provides dynamic leadership to Teaching Fellows and is responsible for planning, promoting, implementing, and assessing professional development experiences for Nashville State faculty. The Director oversees the programming and activity of the Teaching Center and develops, leads, manages, and supports faculty professional learning, programming, and activities of all faculty across all modalities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides vision, leadership and institutional effectiveness planning for the Teaching Center. Leads, plans, coordinates, and implements professional development programs to support full-time and adjunct faculty across their various career stages and teaching modalities. Leads, plans, coordinates, and implements intentional on-boarding training and programs to support full-time and adjunct faculty across teaching modalities. Works closely with academic affairs leadership and faculty senate to provide vision and guidance, while fostering collaboration among the various departments and programs that support effective faculty professional development and advancement of the College’s academic initiatives.
Develops an annual calendar for professional development training for faculty in various academic disciplines. Tracks, assesses, and annually reports on professional development opportunities provided to, and attended by, both full-time and adjunct faculty.

Curates and disseminates research and resources on learning and teaching effectiveness and pedagogical and andragogical best practice to all faculty to enhance student learning and engagement. Provides online and in-person faculty training and coaching for online and on-ground teaching and learning with applied learning theories and best practices.
Participates in selecting, training, and supervising employees assigned to the Teaching Center, including Teaching Fellows. Serves as the High Impact Practices (HIPs) lead to TBR and manages tracking of HIPs across classes. Advises college administration on matters regarding faculty professional development. Manages and continuously improves the Teaching Center webpage. Manages the budget of the Teaching Center. Mentors adjunct faculty to provide training, support, and foster a sense of belonging. May teach as needed or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree from an accredited institution

Minimum of at least Five (5) years of college teaching experience in multiple modalities

Experience working in a community college environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience developing professional development experiences within a higher education environment

Three (3) years of experience leading and developing educational strategies

Experience with institutional effectiveness reporting and/or program evaluation

Experience leading faculty and/or developing and implementing student success strategies within a higher education environment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong organization and time management skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to lead others to improve student success. Knowledge of leading-edge technology and its applications to higher education, online learning, and universal design. Knowledge of accessibility standards and the creation of accessible content. Ability to be flexible and handle a variety of tasks at one time. Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and representatives of business, industry and government.

Rate of Pay: $58,762.00 - $73,452.00 depending on experience
