What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech and Language Pathologist position at Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union - Special Ed?
Duties (include but are not limited to):
•Ability to perform the functions of a Speech & Language Pathologist: Evaluation, Therapy & Consultation for children.
•Possess the ability to support children with communication challenges across settings and in accessing and benefitting from the general curriculum.
•Demonstrate knowledge of high quality and evidence based practices for children.
•Plan and organize appropriate learning experiences that are based upon the need, interest, ability and learning style of individual child.
•Demonstrate knowledge of Special Education through instructional practices.
•Develop and maintain collaboration with colleagues, appropriate community agencies and education providers.
•Participate in developmental screenings throughout the year for children.
•Demonstrate effective skills in evaluation, screening and assessment, including adhering to state and federal guidelines and procedures.
•Maintaining documentation and data collection which reflects the goals and objectives addressed through intervention.
•Support and participate in developing transition opportunities for children entering or exiting the program.
