SPED Teacher - 7th Grade

Job Summary: The Southwick-Tolland-Granville Regional School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 7th Grade Special Education Teacher to join our student-centered team. The ideal candidate will support the academic, social, and emotional development of students with disabilities through individualized instruction and a collaborative approach with general education staff. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring all students have access to a high-quality education in the least restrictive environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct instruction to students with IEPs in a pull-out or inclusion setting, based on student needs. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations. Adapt general education lessons and materials to meet students’ needs and abilities. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and assistive technology tools to support differentiated learning. Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to foster an inclusive learning environment. Monitor student progress using formal and informal assessments; maintain accurate and timely documentation. Lead IEP meetings, attend and actively participate in parent conferences, staff meetings, and professional development sessions. Promote a safe, positive, and respectful classroom climate that supports student engagement and behavior management.
