Heavy Customs Welder

Southworth Products Inc., located in Manila, AR, has an immediate opening for a Heavy Customs Welder - Weekdays

Southworth is the world’s largest manufacturer of ergonomic material handling equipment for vertical lifting and work positioning. Our products are designed to improve worker productivity while reducing the potential for worker injuries. Anywhere that workers are lifting and positioning items, handling pallets, working with parts in containers or transporting loads in a factory or warehouse, Southworth has a product to make the job faster, safer, and easier.

Primary Functions:

• Able to read and understand blueprints and weld symbols & bill of material. Able to work alone in producing custom products with the information communicated as a set of instructions.
• Layout, position, fit and weld components to assemble machinery according to blueprints and/or written and verbal instructions. (Including hydraulic assembly and hydraulic schematics.)
• Proficient use of various welding equipment following established procedures and work practices, while achieving an acceptable level of quality. (MIG welder, torch, grinder, etc.)
• Should be able to discern between good and bad weld quality.
• Must be willing to be cross trained to fulfill duties as needed in other areas to meet customer requirements.
• May be required to participate in team projects related to safety, efficiency, quality, or other areas as deemed necessary.
• Provide proper housekeeping, care of equipment and safe operating procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have a knowledge of welding techniques, able to read and understand blueprints, painting, metal fabrication, hydraulic assembly, and hydraulic schematics. (flaring tubing & hose assembly)
• One to three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrate good judgment, dependability and satisfactory work quality and quantity.
• Must be able to be part of an effective team through personal interaction based on trust, respect and communication, problem solving individually, as well as team efforts.
• Must be able to bend, twist, reach, grasp with fingers, stand for extended periods of time, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must have basic knowledge of hand tools and pneumatic/electric power tools.
